Adam C. Carter, M.D.Dr. Carter joined Downtown Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, a division of Seaport Orthopaedic Associates in 2007. His area of expertise is in non-operative Orthopaedic medicine and Electrodiagnostics.
 
Dr. Carter is a native New Yorker. He graduated with a B.A. with Honors in English from Hobart College, and received his M.D. from Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Carter completed an internship in General Surgery at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C., and his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
 
Dr. Carter is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, a member of the Physiatric Association of Spine Sports and Occupational Rehabilitation, and a member of the New York Society of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Additionally, Dr. Carter is an active member of the Medical Society of the State of New York and the American Medical Association. Dr. Carter is an active member of the Port Jefferson Fire Department and was honored as the "2005 Probationary Fire Fighter of the Year" and is certified in ice rescue.
